What's this about a test question?

Several posts have been locked asking if it was a test question (kind of hard for the person to answer if it is locked). How could someone taking a test possibly use this during the test, and if it is afterward, what is wrong with asking about a question? Just curious.

There are some areas that do testing by mail, or the questions could be homework for a trade school.

Why should we help them cheat? :D

Let's also look at

nothing, but the poster should submit his or her answer and the reason behind the answer so it can be critiqued, not just answered.

It's the old hand me a fish, I eat for a day. Teach me to fish, I fish for a lifetime.

When it comes to tests we can be mentors, but we cannot (well should not) provide the answers until the test has been graded.

Maybe this test is over. mrswib?

Roger, Wayne, and Bob are exactly right. If it is exam prep or homework (surely they don't give unmonitored tests?) and they have made an effort towards answering the question, I don't think anyone has a problem helping. However, this guy was just asking for the answers with no effort to get the answer himself (or at least none shown).

Paul,

If someone posted a question and included some info about what they don't understand about it or asked where or how they could find the answer I'm sure they would be helped.

There's a big difference between someone trying to understand something and someone just looking for the answers.

That was my thought too, but I am pretty sure someone from perhaps Colorado? said something on the forum before about State testing by mail.

In MA part of the testing is open book and some is not, but it is all under supervision.
