Whats your turn around time for a small residential estimate?

Trying to get a feel for standard turn around times for small residential work, say for example:

• Service panel changes,
• Additions
• Kitchen or bathroom remodel?

Bonus questions do you do the estimating yourself ? Does your company have a dedicated in-house estimator ?

I try for 24 to 48 hours, but voted 2-6 days because two of your three items include my plan reviewing.

As a one-man shop now, with a part-time helper, I'm it.

Some times it’s same day when they call and ask why it’s been a week or two

Panel changes -either on the spot or soon after, although with the material delays today, I might have to delay until I get prices and confirmations on delivery.
Additions - depends on the plans or lack there of
Remodels -budget estimate within a couple of days, then it's T&M if there is a lot of unknowns

Panel changes get estimated over the phone if they'll send me a pic or two. I don't go look.

If I get drawings, it's usually a week or two to get a price together. Sometimes a month

Yeah no joke, I am noticing with residential homeowners / GC's and realtors expect a 2-3 day turn around time. I am more used to the less frenzied two week turn around time in commercial.
