When an indoor AC is fed from outdoor condenser

When an indoor AC is fed from outdoor condenser, is the indoor unit considered protected against short circuit / ground fault through the condenser's MOCP?

Or does the indoor unit need to be provided with separate protection for SCGF?

Or, will just a disconnect switch at the indoor unit be ok?

Thanks

Do you mean a split system that has an indoor unit on the wall? Some jurisdictions want a disconnect switch in the line that connects the indoor unit to the outdoor unit but AFAIC it's totally unnecessary. The indoor unit is protected through the outdoor unit. (The cable that connects the indoor unit has communications on it and the indoor unit may even be DC.)

I agree. The indoor unit gets its protection from the outside unit.
