Good evening,

I working on a church that they currently want to add an elevator to. This elevator will be located in a new building built-out next to one of the church existing buildings (two floor elevator). The new building will only be about 600 sq/ft that will have the elevator installaed in and second floor of this new building will be connected to one of the existing building second floor (as the elevator opens on second floor) people will be able to walk to the existing building. This is in the state of florida. From going through the Florida building code and NEC, I do not see anywhere where it is a requirement to provide an emergency power to this two level floor elevator for a church. Not sure if i'm on the right track or not.

Second part of this is that this church has no fire alarm system. I do know that i will have to provide fire alarm devices for the elevator. but is that sufficenet enough or the existing church needs a new fire alarm system that the elevator system must be connected to?

Thank you!!
