When did control drawing become a rule.

NFPA 70 or 79?
There is no 500.2 in the 2020 NEC
500.4 does not have an A in the 2020 NEC, part B was changed to an IN.
The way I read 500.4 its mandatory, "shall be".
I went back to the 2005 NEC, the language in 500.4 is there, so it was 2002 NEC or earlier
All the NECs back to 68? are on line at NFPA
 
The concept of Control Drawings occurred with the introduction of Article 504 in 1990 and has been mandatory since then.

"Proper Documentation" has been mandatory since 1999; it was 500-3(b) at that time.

500.2 Definitions have all been moved to Article 100.
 
We get a lot of questions on to classify an area, I have learned from RBalex posts that the documentation (on classification) has to provided. This question is asked enough it should be a Sticky or FAQ.

I have to 2002 and the 2014 and it is in there, Thank you for your reply.

I am member of NFPA, but when I do go on I can not find any past NFPA 70 books, What am I doing wrong??
