hey guys ive got a buddy whos house was built in 1960. his panel was moved to a carport that was added later on. there is a groundrod at the origional meter installation and a #4 wire running from that subpanel to the meter I am assuming I will need to drive a ground rod at the new meter location which is circa 1990 what do I need to do with the ground wire can I leave it hooked at the sub or should I unhook it at the sub thanks

Re: where is the exception

Make sure the neutrals and grounds are separated at the sub-panel and connect the old GEC to the grounding bar with the rest of the grounding conductors. :D
