where would I find this code?

My boss says it's code for all thread longer than 18 inches, to be side braced. I mean it makes sense, I was just wondering where exactly that is. Thank you for your help.

I did a quick search and I see nothing about 18". I see the number of threads engaged etc but nothing else... Maybe it was an informational note somewhere

Not sure my makes sense to brace the all-thread, but it does make sense to brace the load; maybe that's what they're thinking (would apply to anything suspended).
