Which breaker in main panel for connection to sub

I'm moving all the loads from my 100A center fed main panel to a sub-panel. What's the best way to connect them? The main panel is a combination meter/load panel rated for 125A and has no lugs - the service connection uses 100A Eaton breakers. Is it better to just add a couple of 100A breakers, or replace the original breakers with "feed-thru" breakers (like a Eaton QC2100)? FWIW, this is in northern California.
