Hey there,

I am going to be buying one of the journeyman practice tests/books. But I am not sure what year to buy. It would probably make more sense to buy the 2017 right now but who knows when they will put those codes into effect. If it helps I will be taking the journeyman test in Wisconsin

Do you have a link?
http://www.nfpa.org/NEC/NEC-adoption-and-use/NEC-adoption-maps

from what I gather on there Wisconsin is still 2011

We still are on the 2011 NEC. However the legislature now has the proposed SPS 316 (Wisconsin electrical code), and is reviewing it. The proposal would keep using the 2011 NEC for one and two family dwellings for 17 months and then the 2017 NEC would take effect. All other installations would be covered by the 2017 NEC.

From the DSPS website:

The Department of Safety and Professional Services-Division of Industry Services wishes to inform you on the status of the SPS 316 Electrical Code Package (CR 16-093). The proposed code package has been submitted to the Legislature for final approval. At the present time no effective date has been finalized for the proposed rules. The proposed rules may be accessed on our website here or on the Legislative Reference Bureau’s (LRB) website here. Please continue to monitor this website page for further information.

Thank you for the information. If I’m taking the test within the next year would you recommend just studying the 2011 book?
