I HAVE A TUB WITH 120V PUMP AND HEATER BOTH ARE SUPPLIED WITH SEPERATE GFI BREAKERS TO RECEPTACLES IN PLASTIC BOXES UNDER THE TUB. THERE IS A BONDING LUG ON BOTH THE PUMP AND HEATER WHICH I HAVE CONNECTED WITH #6 SOLID COPPER WIRE . MY QUESTION IS, ALL THE PIPING FEEDING THE TUB IS PLASTIC EXCEPT FOR A SHORT 3/8" COPPER LINE BETWEEN THE HOT, COLD AND THE SPOUT OUT OF THE TOP OF THE TUB. THIS LINE IS NOT NEAR EITHER THE PUMP OR THE HEATER, IS IT NECESSARY TO BOND. CONTROL OF THE PUMP IS BY AIR PRESSURE.
ADDED INFORMATION
THE COPPER PIPING IS THE HOT AND COLD WATER VALVES THE SPOUT AND CONNECTING PIPING INSTALLED BY THE PLUMBING CONTRACTOR FOR THE HOME OWNER. IT DID NOT COME WITH THE TUB.
I HAD TO BOND A PIECE OF COPPER PIPE, THAT WAS IN A WALL, FEEDING A SPOUT ON ANOTHER TUB BECAUSE THE INSPECTOR SAID THAT IT MIGHT BECOME ENGERIZED. I COULD NOT SEE HOW IT COULD BECOME ENGERIZED BUT DID NOT QUESTION HIM.
WHEN DO YOU HAVE TO BOND SUPPLIED METAL COMPONENTS OF A TUB??????
