Neither. They'll both take lots of money from you and you'll be left frustrated, wondering what you got in return. Just Google either of those names, read what other people have to say about their experience, and see if it's something you really want to get mixed up in.

This is more advertising than a question of opinion. I believe this tread should be closed or deleted! By the way, if you want to loose your money, then bet on SM.

I agree. I used bidclerk and never landed a single job from it. Most of the work on there was either already awarded, or in the planning stages. It just never paid off.

same as 480

c. neither

bid clerk has worked out good for me. only 50 bucks a month and its almost like going fishing. The trench job mentioned in my other recent post is from bid clerk. Way better than service magic were Ive gotten charged for leads as much as 75 dollars and you never even talk to the person. I tried service magic and didnt like the fact that some leads say service upgrade and it will only be for a bad breaker or something smaller, and they stll charge alot. It becomes a whole other game of haggeling with them over prices. Whose got the time, where as in bid clerk you can go looking at your discretion.

Serivce Magic is just one big fat rip off. The last straw with them was when I got a phone notification of a lead that I couldn't fully hear or comprehend what it said. So when I got home I checked my e-mail for the lead, gave the customer a call, and of course he had already found someone else. Service Magic still charged me $30 for the lead and denied my request to dispute the charge.

Bid clerk will have you chasing down dead ends for the most part, although one time I did land a contract for 5 2500 square foot townhomes. I wouldn't rely on them as a staple for finding work, but when you're slow and have nothing to lose they're worth a shot.

Its funny I canceled my SM account 3 months ago and the guy told me he would just turn it off untill I tell them to activate it so they went ahead and started sending me leads again without me saying so. They can kiss my greek ass if they think im not gonna just cancel it now

LOL! I agree!
Since the cat is out, I agree 100% with everyone!

Joke.

Joke.

Service Magic looks like a blind joke and a guaruanteed 50% scam and bidclerk has too many electrical installers who work for free. Mainly in central and north jersey areas. The best way to network is through word of mouth.

SM

SM

They used to have their own forum, but when they started to get too many of their own customers posting negative feedback and bashing them they closed it down.

Their customer service is really bad. I bet they have a high turnover rate. The only good things I've heard about them is from guys who are the only ones in their area using them so they don't have the competition.
