I am currently bidding a job with two geo-thermal wells. The specs say that the pump wire is provided by the hvac contractor with the electrical contractor providing a single point connection. The specs also state that the electrical contractor is responsible for the connection to the disconnect. What is not explained, either in written direction or by a line diagram is who is responsible for bringing the wire from the well to the disconnect. I know that with a residential artesian well, the well installer brings the wire in. Anyone have any experience here?
Good questions, about the same small problem came up on the last job, but we got the owner to go with a motor starter disconnects, (3 total) and noted and chargered for the circuits (about twelve feet/one side forty to panel) and the disconnects which weren't even in the design.
The Well driller supplied as part of their service, ports and circuits from the well motor, in my case. I say ports cause this was a closed system and State regulated and I beleive an EPA authorized drilling.
But if this is still underfined. Be aware that the spring could be of some length out of casing to get to the motor(s).
Wait, Dennis said that!
