i've got a request to bid a remodel of a conference center.
job is supposed to light off jan 03
light fixtures furnished by building owner, about $100k worth.
so, no profit on them, but no out of pocket, either.
you'd be providing labor and materials. work is off scissor lifts,
ceiling is about 14'. it's gonna go fast, this is a live facility at this
time. expect night work.
now, here is the hook... you'll want to have a permit issued
well before the first of the year. jan 01, we start the new title
24 madness, which requires all the CALCTP stuff... light harvesting,
multi level dimming, etc. all the LEED kool aid.
as well as people with the state certificate to commission the system
before a cert. of occupancy is issued.
so, this is something you'll want grandfathered in. unless i had a hard
card in my hands by dec. 15th, i'd pass.
it's 2 hours drive one way for me, and right now, i'm slammed for the
next six months, it looks like.
anyone want to have a go at it? PM me, and i'll get you an introduction
to the GC that is doing this.... they can get you a walk thru either
wed or thursday, bids need to be in by friday or monday.
however, this GC has work all over the place. friend i've known 20 years
is doing project management for him.
he might be a very good guy to know. if i wasn't slammed, i'd be driving down
there tomorrow, but the only thing getting involved with this would do
is give me an opportunity to disappoint a number of people by spreading
myself too thin.
don't be shy....
