Question: I?ve never had to install a cable from the whole house fan to a furnace. Has your jurisdiction required this? If so, is the purpose of this for a damper?

Probably has something to do with shutting down the fan when the furnace is running so that you don't pull the furnace chimney gases into the house.

Or disabling the furnace when the fan is running, for the same reason?
