Whole house smokes

Usually hardware smoke detectors with common trip line
I know it's up to ahj but this is a partial remodel. Anyone ever use battery interconnected via rf?

What code requiring smokes are you under, The IRC has certain exceptions for partial remodels of existing areas that do not require innerconnection.

What I don't like about interconnected smokes is you never know which one is triggering it (like for a low battery). It would be really nice if you could assign numbers to them such that the LEDs would flash the code of the bad one. Or, the could cycle the noise on and off if they are not the one giving the signal.

I have these in my own house. They seem to work fine. A little pricey though.

You can get ones that indicate which one initiated the alarm.

I think that's pretty common, now. I put in some RF ones a few years back (either Kidde or First Alert, I don't remember) and it was easy to tell which one initiated by the way they beeped.
