Hi,
I worked with an electrician years ago who claimed he had a voltage recorder installed in his home. During a brownout event his appliances in his home were damaged. He was able to produce a printout as evidence of the brownout to his power company. He claimed they cut him a check for tens of thousands of dollars so he could replace all his appliances. Does anyone know what kind of device this guy was using?
I can try to reach out to him but figured I'd ask here if anyone is familiar with such a device. I know in theory many UPS devices can log voltage however that's only logging the voltage of a particular circuit. Not the voltage coming into the home. It sounds like he had a device installed similar to what the power companies use which is why they accepted his claim that his appliances were damaged due to the service coming into the home.
