Why no 1974 NEC

They (the CMPs) just did not get the work done in time to have a 1974 code, but don't know why. Volume 2 of the Technical Committee Report was presented at the annual meeting in May of 1974, so that was too late to have a 1974 code, however the information in the TCR calls it the 1974 NEC.

I thought it was because I was down there in Puerto Rico that year , surfing all day long, no job, living in a tree fort on the beach in a coconut grove.
 
I think it was due to some newfangled technology that came along back then.

Something evil called "Ground-fault circuit interrupters".
 
They wanted to tease us into thinking they were smart and would change to a 4 year cycle. :roll:
