I've often wished for a GFCI receptacle and/or dead-front GFCI with an SPDT dry alarm contact that changes state if the GFCI trips. That could be extremely useful for situations where you want to know immediately if the GFCI has tripped. Fridge and sump pump are two examples that come to mind.

I've done this with a relay, but that's another device to deal with, and it's always drawing power when energized.

Leviton Audible Alert GFCI Outlets sound an audible alarm when the GFCI trips, alerting users that power has been disconnected from load(s) plugged into or fed from the GFCI. The alarm function is ideal for monitoring the status of GFCI protection in garages, basements and other locations where daily visual checks are unlikely. When the alarm is heard, users can immediately check the GFCI and take any necessary action.

Problem is, it's a high-pitched piezo buzzer beep. I can hardly hear it after 25 years in a scene shop around power tools, even with having worn hearing protection. Older folks absolutely won't hear it beeping. That's why I've wanted a GFCI with an alarm contact - that way, the announciator can be whatever - and wherever - it needs to be.

This might actually be available as a standard factory modification or other $$$.

Here is a link to a 30mA GFPE device with 'auxiliary switch':

I've seen 'auxiliary switch' as an option that can be added at the factory to standard circuit breakers.

Might be worth a call to Eaton to ask if there is 'something like a QGBFEP1020W2 that can be used in a standard residential panel with a 5mA trip sensitivity' and see what they say. (or to whatever panel manufacturer you need)

I can't hear ours when I know it's tripped and standing next to it. MDSW can hear it upstairs.
