so, I have another crazy project to install some Wi-Fi radios in a classified area to allow some meters to print reports to an ethernet printer.

It turns out there are IS barriers for standard Wi-Fi antennas.

Anyone have any experience with them?

Or some other viable option?

I can also go 900 MHz if I can find a solution for that that lets it not blow up.

It would not just be the antenna, but the entire access point(s). Can you describe the area that needs coverage? Is there an existing network this needs to integrate with? Also, are the meters wireless? You will need to know the 802.11 specs of any devices that need to connect.

I can put the AP in an XP box along with the barrier and just expose the antenna to the classified area. I don't think a simple barrier would be adequate to make a whole AP IS.
