Grid tied systems used to be difficult as the utility had to set the protective relays and metering- electromechnical relays and such. Today the solid state inverters, such as trace make it much easier.
However you still need to install per the POCOs requirements and NEC.
You'll need grouped disconnects and signs.
What is hard about working on the PV panels the DC disconnect is fed from both directions, DC from the array and DC from the battery (if one is used)
To turn off the panel you cover it up.

That is not what I said.

You had said

That gap has been narrowed.

And as far as the economic analysis regarding payback of course it's important. Some of the panels we will be installing add R-10 to the roof and that is also factored in.
