An inspector is requesting that we replace the wire clamps used to route GECs because they could induce current and cause destructive heat to the grounding conductor. The clamps used are G90 with a vinyl plastisol coating 32 mils thick and are fastened to the steel structure of the building. The ground conductors are insulated THHN. I don't believe that the duration would be long enough to induce that heat required to damage the conductor. Does anyone else have experience with this scenario?

Hmmm. Did the AHJ cite a rule?
If it’s not a lot of clamps, they’re one hole plastic cable clamps. I get them at ace hardware in the metal parts drawers
