Wire color code

I realize the NEC does not regulate wire color code, except for green and white. However, is there anything in the code that prevents the use of the same color wire for 2 different uses? I have a customer that wants their DC Com (24VDC negative) to be black in color, but they would also like the 120V hot to also be black. Both of these make sense independently, but together in the same panel sounds like a possible code violation and/or troubleshooting nightmare.
Any thoughts?
