Wire Derating for DC systems

I have a PV system and looking at Table 310.15(C)(1). Questions: Is the derating of wire based on the bundle size the same requirement for DC as it is for AC? will we have the same heat draw in DC as we do with AC as a bundle?

Yes. The code rules are based on RMS current. In a physics class there might be some marginal heating differences to discuss but the code treats AC and DC as the same.
