Wire identification

Do I have to indentify all wires in an industrial control panel. Is there maybe a difference between power en control wiring?
 
If you do not have specifications to follow and you are not building a UL 508A listed panel, I recommend you refer to NFPA 79 - Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery.

NFPA 79 14.2 deals with the identification of conductors and says they need to be identified by number, letter, color, or a combination thereof. The suggested color schemes for ungrounded conducotrs include BLACK for all line voltage, RED for AC control, and BLUE for DC control.
 
The panel should be UL508a listed; All I can find in the UL508a is 66.5.2.(internal wiring power circuits) : "All conductors shall be identified at each termination by letter(s) or number(s) corresponding wiht the wiring diagrams provided with with the industrial control panel".

UL508A also suggests (and requires on some "special use" panels) color coding similar to that found in NFPA 79.
