Wire in Tube Steel

Got another project where architect would like to route wire in tube steel of Pergola columns for cosmetic purposes. AHJ says no must be U.L. listed which I agree with. Could I route seal tight conduit in tube steel. Just your thoughts please.
 
I agree with Dave, unless you're pulling individual conductors in the tube steel no listing required. Just use another wiring method like Dave mentioned or something like PVC jacketed MC cable.
 
This is why securing and supporting rules are different for fished cables and raceways.
Look at the section for you cable/ raceway choice and read the exception. Show this to your inspector. He will agree.
 
Probably a communication issue where the architect says 'wire' but the electrician will install a cable.

Though do watch out for the suitability of the mechanical steel tubing as a chase for the cable being selected. Some steel tube can have very sharp burrs which will tear through NM cable. Or if this steel tube is on an outdoor structure it is likely considered a damp or wet location.
