Wire Mold with no ground

I had a customer that wanted another receptacle in a room that only had two. I told her that wire mold was the easiest/ cheapest way to go. They had K&T wiring with no ground. So I figured I'll put a GFI in a wire mold extension box and label it no equip ground and run the metal wire mold over to my new receptacle, which would be the load side of the GFI, and label that no equip ground also.
Then I thought.... Can I run this metal raceway with no grounding means? even though its GFI protected? I did not want to do that. Lucky for me the other receptacle in the room had a ground, so I wire molded over to it to pick up my ground.
I have seen that NM wire mold, but have never used it.
What would you guys have do in this situation? Can a guy run metal raceway with no grounding means attached to it? What if the circuit is GFI protected?

I don't know what the answer is according to the code and am interested in finding out.
Your scenario seems little different than a metal box on a two wire circuit, which can be found everywhere.

In a similar situation I encountered I used pvc pipe and boxes.

I'd say no, it wouldn't meet NEC. You'd have to find some way to comply with 250.134, via 250.130(C). But similar methods could be done in a non-metallic surface raceway, such as Panduit.

That tells you that the wire mold box or transition fitting needs a place for a ground screw to hook your green/bare wire to. What if you don't have a green wire?

Surface metal raceway enclosures providing a transition
from other wiring methods shall have a means for connecting
an equipment grounding conductor.

You cannot extend a two wire circuit with no ground even if there is gfci protection-- 250.130

The above in red from the OP is why I posted "Check out 386.60"

Bill, post the reference.
