In the late 70's I worked for a guy that would only used Buccannan crimps and the snap on cap for splices and Marr connectors to connect light fixtures.

The Marr connectors were a brass sleeve with a set screw. It had a thread on the outside of one end that was wider than the sleeve. Then it had a black screw on cap.

Look close as some of the packaging wire nuts come in. Some are produced for the Canadian market, so have French on them as well as English. Then they'll be labeled as Marrettes. :smile:

Wow. I have never seen that nor ever hear of that term. I suddenly feel like a first year apprentice...

It's a European term. Brings the NEC more in line to be an international standard. Same reason it's going metric.
Great!! I was at Lowes the other day, was getting ready to make a killer buy on Stanley 25 foot tape measures, then I noticed that they were METRIC!:mad:
