When you use wire nuts is it code to use specifics color wire nuts on the wires? Obviously you cant match white to neutral or black to hot....

You just use whatever brand you choose and size according to the manufacture specs.

They don't make that many different colored wirenuts anyway.

I only like the colors red and yellow so those are the only ones I use. Just kidding. :LOL:

The only restricted color is green because the green wirenuts are only listed for grounding and bonding connections.

The other restrictions are, as others have said, based on the number and size of conductors that are permitted to be used by the manufacturer's instructions.

But don,,,,, if the OP can't find a black wirenut for a black wire, or, a white wirenut for a white wire,,,,how is he ever going to find a copper colored wirenut for a bare ground wire??
