Hi guys. My buddy, who is amazing, just called me on something I said about the need to emt sleeve conductors within 18" of windows and door edges.

Went through the apprenticeship from 97-2002...and came across that "spec" at that time...and have followed ever since.

Is there actually a code section for this? Couldn't find it...but have been living it for 20 years.

The closest Section I can think of is 225.19(D)(1).... for overhead conductors.
(1) Clearance from Windows. Final spans to the building they supply, or from which they are fed, shall be permitted to be attached to the building, but they shall be kept not less than 900 mm (3 ft) from windows that are designed to be opened, and from doors, porches, balconies, ladders, stairs, fire escapes, or similar locations.

and a companion Section 230.9 for service conductors.
