I heard about someone who has been using cord instead of rope for their wire pulls.
What size wire can you pull thru conduit with a 14-3 extension cord?
What is the breaking point of the cord?

Any port in the storm, I guess.

I don't know the answer to that but I can tell you a junk 16/3 cord tied to a lift manages four 3/0s and a 6.

Surprisingly high. :p

Ryan...the cord is for the PULL...not to actually "use" as a conductor.

The breaking point will depend on how cheap the cord was in the first place PLUS how long it was left out in the rain, sun, snow PLUS how much the "puller" weighs and what he had for breakfast or lunch ($ value)/the lenght of the run TIMES the weight of the conductors.

:)

A big birddy told me. :p

Sounds like something I would do.

My neighbor lashed up some leaning trees after the hurricanes with some old 14-3. Seems to hold a suprising load.

I heard about a truck getting pulled out of a ditch with trusty 'ole 14-2 wrapped up a few times. :D
