Wire Size Question

Do the (2) circles represent a column with a GFI on each one. They are about 460' away so large wire is needed.
The blue channel you see is the duct bank from panel to a manhole.

I'm not sure why they are running 2" conduit from the manhole to the column. They want us to pick up the conduits from where the duct bank stubs up at column and continue to receptacle. Wouldn't I be able to splice down to #12's in the manhole and run #12's 30' to each column/receptacle?

It's very possible you can downsize at the manhole. You'll want to know what voltage drop is acceptable to them and what they're using the receptacles for. In your voltage drop calculations, simply add up the resistances of the run of large wire and the 30' run of #12s.

Can you explain a little further about adding up the resistance? I use the southwire VD calculator.
