Wire Size Question

I have a 600 Main breaker MDP. The connected load is 409 amps, 400al. xhhw would suffice in this situation or would it.

Are you trying to size the wire that feeds the main distribution 600 amp breaker? or are you feeding from the 600 to a panel with 409 amp load?

I also would love to hear how 400AL will work.

They would need to be in separate raceways to be compliant unless you were using a wireway.
