Shocker!

I'm installing a 100A 220V sub panel in a garage. The total run is 140ft. from main panel to sub panel. What size wire would I use? Main Panel is 200A.

Without evidence for a cabinet listing over 60?c, a feeder ampacity size is available in this column of NFPA 70 Tbl. 310.16, but this NEC Tbl. is for 60Hz systems.

Tell us what your code book says for the 220v region you describe, and I can help with voltage drop. Otherwise, anything you get from the NEC or this forum, based on 60Hz, may not be correct.

Your best bet is to hire a competent electrician to do this for you. No offense, but the fact that you do not have the very basic knowledge to even determine a proper wire size means you almost certainly do not even know the proper questions to ask to do this task safely.
