what size wire and conduit do i need to go from a remote meter to a panel that is 200 amps?
this is a 3 phase 4 wire installation.
the meter is outside the building and the panel is inside.
the distance between the two is 90 feet.this is for a machine shop.
the only nec I own is from 96.
Ibeleive I need number 2 cu wire with a 2 inch pipe but i want to be sure.

Mike,

Welcome to the forum. Could you provide a little more information? Is this for a service? Is it in a dwelling? Are you using conduit and wire or cable? By remote meter, do you mean a pedestal?

Your profile says you are an inside wireman. I am curious how much time in the industry you have had. Also as was previously mentioned, you would need to provide more info, and a location in case there are local amendments to what is in the NEC.

It all sounds good to me.

You will need to perform an article 220 load calculation to determine the actual load on the conductors. Only then can you determine if the service and conductors that you are figuring will be sufficient.
Will there be disconnect at the meeer location? If so, these wires may be a feeder and you will need to keep the ground and neutral seperate. Spend some time in article 250.32(B) to determine which method applies.
