I'm a residentail electrician and I've been doing services for years now. A few weeks ago I saw a utility man who was working at a house i was doing hooking up the live mains to the house and he was using a very interesting tool that was in the shape of a "T" with 4 different size openings (one per side) for different size wire, big wire, like 4/0 Aluminum and such, I would assume it also has #2 and other's which would make it easy for stripping quickly outside. It also used a twisting motion, as you would twist it would go down the wire further to your desired length of stripped wire. It was also made out of all metal, no rubber or parts, just solid steel or something with blades in each opening for the stripping action. I have no idea who makes it or what it's called and have had no luck at my electrical distributor or searching online. I would appreciate it if anyone who's seen/knows what this tool is let me know. Working in New England in the cold this tool beats a knife outside stripping cold wire any day!

Right here.
It is Utility Tools 4x4 stripper. You can get various dies for whatever type of cable for each arm of the tool. Greenlee made one very similar in the 70's called the model 1890. I have one for service conductors. If you talk nice to your lineman, one will fall off his truck.

Thanks! That's exactly what i was looking for! Wish it would have come up in one of the 4000 searches i did with the word "stripper" in it, but never did! Came up first time with the new key words! Thanks again
