My recessed lights require 90degree C wire, checking my wire I am unable to determine the temp. rating as the printing is very bad. Is all modern wire rated at 90 degrees or do I need special wire?

Re: Wire Temperature

There is no guarantee, but for the most part most new wire is thhn, which is 90 degree rated.
If these recess cans are pre wired (the type with a junction box on it), I think the wire type would not be required to be 90 degree to the J. box. Only from the J. box to the fixture can.
That wire is installed in the factory.

Re: Wire Temperature

NM-B has 90 Degree C conductors.
Otherwise if its a raceway method use a 90 deg C wiring method as listed in article 300 in the NEC.
