Is it ok to wire tie mc? I have a #10/4 MC run over a dropped cieling. there is a condiut rack also running across the overhead. The uni strut for the conduits is ten feet apart. Am I OK to wire tie my MC to the side of one of the conduits between the strut? It would seem more secure then wire tie to just a few hang wires that go to the light fixtures

330-30.A lists what you can use to support and secure MC. And Cable ties are listed.
I can't find it right now but I don't think you can use a raceway or fixture wire to secure and support it.

What I was refering to fixture wires are the wires from the joist down to the drop in fixtures above a suspended ceiling. They are independent of the T bar and for the lights only. I can ty wrap to those.Just thinking the conduit raceway would be more support.

300.11 A,B & C
You may be able to use the fixture support wires. Not sure.

300.11 (B) generally prohibits the use of conduit for other cable supports.

Some exceptions do apply.

IMHO--The way I read 300.11 I would say no and would cite it as the reason I failed your install--

(B) Raceways Used as Means of Support. Raceways
shall be used only as a means of support for other raceways,
cables, or nonelectrical equipment under any of the
following conditions:
(1) Where the raceway or means of support is identified for
the purpose
(2) Where the raceway contains power supply conductors
for electrically controlled equipment and is used to support
Class 2 circuit conductors or cables that are solely
for the purpose of connection to the equipment control
circuits
(3) Where the raceway is used to support boxes or conduit
bodies in accordance with 314.23 or to support luminaires
in accordance with 410.36(E)
(C) Cables Not Used as Means of Support. Cable wiring
methods shall not be used as a means of support for other
cables, raceways, or nonelectrical equipment.

You would still be supporting your cables from another raceway or cable if you did that.

Am I OK to wire tie my MC to the side of one of the conduits between the strut?

It's OK to use wire ties, not OK to use conduit for support.

What I normally do is run the MC through the bar joist which are 4 ft apart and wire tie and in the other direction I run to the side of a bar joist and use wire ties.

If the ceiling is to high then you may need to purchase some of the ceiling tie wire and hang your own supports from the bar hoist. It's not as much trouble as it sounds. ;)
