when you guys do some services.do you use split bolts or those multi tap connectors (ilsco or blackburn or similar) when you make the connections inside the trough? I will do a Upgrade and I wonder which way it has worked better for you guys. I am using a wire trough 6"x6"x48" then 3- 100 amps meter pans (that's how we call it here in Jersey) and then run to the basement. To use split bolt there would be a 2/0 copper and 3 - #4 per connection, the web site below just shows one connector for 3 connections we will need for 4 connections.Three would be needed (L1,L2 and Ground)

Split bolts are cumbersome and time consuming. Use the polaris/ilsco/burndy type tap. You'll be glad you did. They are available with four holes.

I see. Looks like it is a time saving thing. I just got 3 for my next service, they are not cheap $27.72 each 4/0 4 ports, but when you guys used split bolts are they listed to connect more than 3 wires together?
