Any suggestions for a good entry level wire tugger? (Besides more helpers)
I do not think I need the Greenlee super tugger for maybe something so 2 guys can make a 300' pull of 4-4/0 in a 2 1/2" conduit.

I've seen some speak highly about Maxis. If you go to youtube and do a search you will find information on it. I've never used one, but it looks slick to me.

I have used the Maxis, it is a good rig and would do the pull you are asking about.

I have a Ray-Tools tugger and love it. I used it to pull 3 runs of 4 500mcm copper conductors, 180 feet long with 3 90's. It worked awsome!!

I would go with the Maxis given what you want to pull. They're well worth the money.

We had one similar to that, worked well on pulls like that, but one of our guys that didn't know how to use a tugger broke it.

I bought a Current Tools #33 Cable Puller a while ago. It was about $1200. I've really pushed it's limits once or twice and it always performs well. I'll be using it today to pull 350's about 80' through three 90's.

I've got a Maxis pull it 1000, it works with a Hole Hawg drill (purchased separately) and didn't cost over $500 from my recollection. Works good with the note that it's not going to pull big wire any distance.
