Do you mean type or size?
The type may be selected from table 310.13 or a cable type that is permitted in Chapter 3. The size would depend on the voltage drop you can stand and the wire material.
I am wondering why a System Analyst would be doing this type of work. Consider the statements and obtain the services of an electrician that would be able to select the proper wire for you.
