I entered in a discussion with another electrician about the requirenents of continuous color of awg 6 and below.....I believe it is in the code somewhere, but I cannot find it.....Am I wrong? or where is the reference?

I think what you would be looking for is in 200.6 and 250.119.

There is none in the NEC.

You can phase tape any size ungrounded conductor.

The only rules for continious color are the sections mention by Roger and Dennis.

I had an employee day dreaming, or something, at work once, he used almost an entire roll of tape on a conductor, before I asked him WTF. We all had a laugh.

That requirement for ungrounded conductors is often specified by project specifications which are often more than the minimums established b the code.
