wireless smokes

Are you talking about something like this?

I had to use those on a job that was complete but missing some of the required smoke detectors, and they worked just fine. One upstairs one downstairs and they will tie into a hardwired inner connected smokes.
Lowes was able to get them for me.

I suggested wireless for a home day care. They bought several for less than what it was going to cost for me to instal one hardwired unit. State Fire marshal was happy.

A neighboring town will not allow them as local code has not caught up with technology yet.
I just heard that the fire marshal here may have a problem with no AC to each unit. It's the old story about removing the battery for use somewhere else or just removing it to smoke something. In any case, would it be easier to find power for each unit or just interconnect them the old fasion way:confused:
