Where in the NEC Code does it allow the use of wirenuts in a classified area?
Wirenut use in a classified area.

There is no specific rule that says you can use a wirenut or any other splicing or termination device in a classified area. There are are also no rules that say you can't. The only rules that apply are the rules that specify the type of enclosure that the splices have to be installed in.
