Wires in an LB

Normally conduit bodies are also marked with a maximum number and size of conductors. Per 314.28 conduit bodies must adhere to the same rules a boxes (6X conduit dia for an LB) or not exceed the number of conductors stamped on the LB.
The number or conductors will vary greatly with the Form of the LB.
If the distance between opens for your 3 LB is not 18" then you need to check the mfg. conductir fill. For a 3" Carlon PVC LB the max is shown as 5 4/0

I've had inspectors ignore the manufactures capacity rating and require the 6x rule instead. I worked with one electrician who when asked, would reply "How many do you need!" He tended to pack a pipe full of wires!

If the conduit body is not marked with the maximum size and number of conductors, then you must use the rules in 314.28 for pull boxes.
Even where they are marked, they often specify 3 conductors. There is nothing in the code that tells you how you can convert 3 conductors of one size to 4 or 5 conductors of another size.
