I need to provide provisions for future wiring to 40 apartments.

I am proposing a 2 hour fire rated electrical closet on every floor. Within the electrical closet I will run 4 wireways going straight up penetrating every concrete floor in the electrical closet. (8 floors total).

Per building code, I need a T rating of at least 1 hour for every floor penetration.

What is the safest way to penetrate each floor with a wireway while having adequate F and T ratings of the concrete floor?

Just curious, why a wireway? Is there a specific reason why you're choosing a wireway over another wiring method? What do you anticipate getting put in the raceway in the future? Does a metal wireway need to have a fire rating when passing through a floor?

Because it’s better to have 4 wireways instead of 40 conduits due to space constraints and easier handling of the wires. What other wiring method do I have? The raceway will only feed apartments, worst case scenerio 3/0 wires for each apartment. Metal wireway I think must have firestop penetration per code. (Although not sure if it’s required if it’s located in a 2-hour fire rated electrical closet)

Curious... how do you satisfy 300.19 using wiereway ??
We will order custom wireways with welded hooksthen use Kallems grip

I would consider MC cable for the apartment feeders.
I want the contractors to pick and choose the size of wire they need. Don’t want them to be stuck using just 1 wire size. MC cable cannot be reused like a conduit.
