Can Anyone give me a rough Idea what to charge (labor only) a client to rewire a 2800 sq ft single story home that is striped down to the studs and has a 200 amp existing panel and Client is supplying all the material.?

This would be on the West Coast,,California to be exact.

I do not bid the jobs that way...part of MY job is spec'ing the materials so when there is a problem, I have the responsibity.

The west coast of California is not exact. the cost of living and labor vary wildly in different areas.

I would figure 1 day to remove all the old wiring. From there it should be as easy as a new home.

Depends on the age of the wood. The way the house was framed too. I've done a house where everything had to come to the center of the house to go from 1st floor to 2nd floor because there was no way to go up the outside walls. I don't let customers supply materials either. If a customer tells me he has a price from someone else to just supply the labor, I tell them to be careful that guy may not have good credit at the supply houses and could be gone tommorrow.

Keep in mind you might be able to reuse some holes already drilled. But as far as owner supplying material,no thanks.More often than not they will buy the wrong material.Or simply not get some of the items. The OP sounds more like a home owner feeling us out for a price from his electrician,if im wrong i am sorry but if a house is striped down to studs what is hard to figure ?

ya know that when the home owner gets the stuff that it's usually a nitemare,,
i would suggest you calling in your material list,to the suply house, and the ho picking it up.the more responsiblity you take from the ho,the better off your gonna be,
do it on an hourly bassis,,agree on a hourly rate,,"NOT NO 25$ AN HOUR EITHER,,"you know what your worth!!if you dont,we'll help ya.

I personally think that any conscientious contractor would much better prefer to supply his own parts. Simply put, how can one guarantee the project without having control on the parts used? I wouldn't want to be responsible for a project I installed where the components used did not meet my minimum requirements. After all, every project I would do is advertising for me.
