Wiring in steam room

I am being asked to wire a steam room by my boss for one of our customers.
This is basically a shed that will have tiled walls and benches on the inside.
I found a steam generator that will be adequate for the size shed and will be installed under the bench.
Besides the control for the unit there will be 2 switches on the inside of the room, 1 for the steam room lights and 1 for the outside lights.
There will also be 2 wall mounted nautical type lights which are outside rated lights.
I know there are some nice wet location switch plates that mount on a surface mount weather proof box, but does anyone know of some that would allow me to rough in just a regular 2 gang nm box inside the wall then install a wet location rated 2 gang switch plate?
Ive never done one of these so any information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.:)

Normally the switch for the steam room is outside the room not in the room. Also if it is in the wall then it does not have to be wet location rated. Think about all the exterior lights that are mounted to old work plastic boxes inside the walls.

Im not really answering you question about the switch cover here, but for what its worth, I would probably try to talk the customer into placing the switches on the outside of the room, I have a feeling they would have a longer life expectancy if they were outside of the constant steamy enviroment.

I agree about the switches as well, but the customer wanted them inside he said something about the kids turning off the switches when the grown ups were in there.

Put them up high enough so if the kids can reach them, they should now better at that age. Nothing says switches must be 40-50" up.

Timer switches and even locking skitches (with a key) are another option.

Well if I absolutely had to install switches inside the room I would use Hubbell marine grade rubber covers with press switches.

All of them I've installed, had a sealed wheather proof touch pad, you run the provided cable back to the steam generator. The new ones now have built in safety timers, and automatically shut off. I've had complaints that it does not stay on long enough.

Just seen you were installing switches for lights, not the generator. The orange box has a pneumatic switch used for garbage disposals that would work, mount in hole in tile.

Thank you for the replys.
I will ask him again to reconsider the placement of the switches.
I guess bottom line is, if it is legal and he wants them in there no matter what others recommend I guess its his buck.
Thanks again.
