Looks ugly, isn't the one running down the corner a violation though? Doesn't anything below 8' have to be protected? I know they have us sleeve it in pvc to protect any wire below 8'.

That must be a local rule. In my area, it only has to be protected against physical damage if it's below 6".

Interesting rule in your area though, since schedule 40 pvc and romex are exacly the same (in the eyes of the code), in that they do not protect against physical damage. The only nonmetallic raceway rated for protection against physical damage is schedule 80.

In the original poster's pictures, I don't see anything too surprising. This is fairly run of the mill DIY work. Ugly, yes. Support violations, yes. I see big #131 staples holding multiple cables, zip ties supporting one cable off another. I do think that 6-3 to the hot tub should be protected as it nears the floor. I also note the interesting telephone bond to the panel's cover screw. Weird.
