I have a question about a machine built in Japan. The wiring method using a non-metallic sheathed cable that connects to a 200 volt motor using wire nuts in open air. That certainly is a code violation. Please tell me which code applies I think it's 300:15

Is this factory installed interior wiring by the manufacturer or the branch circuit serving the equipment?

Is the equipment listed by a NRTL?

If you go to this site you can check out the various NRTLs. UL and CSA are the big boys, the rest will use the standards that are written by one of these laboratories. :D
