I have always been told that only one wire can be landed on the load side of a circuit breaker. I can not find any NEC reference to this requirement. I did note that some breakers with a screw and plate contact are designed for two wires while other type contacts (box connector) are designed for a single conductor. Any guidance?

110.3(B) Listed or Labled.. Go accordance to any instructions included with the breaker..If the breaker is listed for two wires then you can but two wires..

I agree some breakers are listed for 2 wires but when in doubt just pigtail to the breaker. This is not a NEC rule but rather a manufacturer spec. which is covered in art. 110 as stated
